Metalassé Noir

So, here goes the Lookbook 2016 article just like what I promised. This photoshoot was done for an eco-chic design project using upcycling materials by my friend, Cianata Chandra. She is currently studying at Lasalle College of the Arts, Singapore & she decided to make me as her muse for this particular project. Keep scrolling down for more!

What excites me the most about this project is that all of the garments are hand-stitched which makes everything seems remarkable and unique. They were given about 2 months period of time only to make this whole outfit or look.

These photos were taken at Victoria Theatre & Concert Hall in Singapore.

Decided to bring my quilted leather Chanel purse along for this photoshoot since it suits well to the garments. I had this purse for quite a long time now but first and foremost, Chanel is always timeless and classic. So, why not?

Guess what? These buckles are made from un-used watch leather straps. The jacket as well as the skirt fits me perfectly since it's custom made for my size.

Sequins & Nude

I love the idea of wearing something that "glows", literally... It makes me feel confident and not too over the top at the same time just like a simple basic colour which is into the trend nowadays like nude on top of sequins.

I'm channelling top and outerwear from Miss Selfridge, I adore their statement pieces from top to bottom including jewellery with their astonishing beading details. Well, you can see most people wearing this type of garment or should I call it "embellishments" to parties or even a night out with your girls. I say, you can wear them almost everyday without looking too much or too "bling bling" by pairing your inner layer with a simple shirt, sweater, tank top, pants or skirt (anything that suits you best). Besides, they also have it in different shapes and sizes right? ..ranges from bomber jackets, cardigan, vests, or just a little bit of an embellishments right on top of the pocket side. Maybe?

Anyway, I'm just giving out ideas on what I've been thinking about lately. You don't have to keep your "inner self" all the time on thinking about the things that you wear are too over the top or just "okay", it's common sense, yes, wether it's appropriate or does it suit well to the occassion...but what I was trying to say is to strut your style wherever you go. It might be quirky, too posh or even sporty but don't you think that style is a way to say who you are without having to speak?

Let that inner self of you spark, just like sequins! (sounds weird, but whatever).
Tuddles, see you on my next blog posts.

It's been a long time since I wore dungarees, thought of giving it a try since it never gets old. A plain old dungarees are classic and timeless, it makes you look younger and fresh. I love pairing my dungarees with a plain white sweater. I just love the idea of white with denim. It's simple, stylish and not over the top at the same time.

My dungarees are from Zara, it has a fun look regarding the cute patches being stitch on top of the denim fabric. You can also pair dungarees with a sleeveless top (I prefer it being a bit loose or oversized since the dungarees itself gave that kind of effect when we wear it). It is important to have balance on what you're wearing, because it can either make you look skinnier or even taller *wink*.

Like what I said before, dungarees are a bit loose when we wore it. That's why I'm wearing this platform heels I got from Stella McCartney which is "so-in-the-trend" nowadays. It's really comfortable to take a walk along for hours regardless of the height.

Pairing a white sweater with oversized denim jacket are the way to do it. I got this jacket from The Editor's Market, they have a huge style arrange of denim goodies, which what I like the most. I did DIY onto the jacket by patching cute patches and adding stylish pins onto it. I guess a girl can experiment a bit, right? Anyway, I also love pairing my simple tops with necklaces just like this key necklace from @ki_indonesia on Instagram. Thanks for sending me this!

C'est La Vie

Reminiscing the past, how things were and should have been. Don't blame me for being imaginative and delusional as you can see...I'm a Pisces girl. Talking about zodiac, my birthday just passed a few months ago, exactly on the 20th of February. It was a really hectic week for my college days so I never had the chance to go back to my hometown regards of celebrating, but in return I celebrated it with my friends and family in this wonderful dinner place called P.S. Cafe at Dempsey Hill, Singapore.  Anyways, back to the main topic, these photos were taken by Kezia Adina. I discovered her from my Instagram feed as I was scrolling down and thought of giving it a try, turns out the results are marvellous and not disappointing. She's very talented and kind some more!

C'est La Vie means that's life. Have you been through that ups and downs in life and in some point you just wanna give up everything? Well, I do. Maybe every humanity does. As I grow up, I learned to be an independent woman [ ...I'm only 18 this year though ] might be shocking for most people since I look more mature than my age, as what they say. I find that as a compliment, maybe, nevertheless I strive to think more about the future than just what it is at the moment. I'm working on something and I can't wait to show you readers soon on the blog. Crossing fingers. Because, if not now, when?

First post of 2016! Apologize for the lack of posts this past few months since I had a very hectic schedule lately. Anyway, I hope you guys still remember Headlines Hairdressing. They are a salon based in Singapore that I have been in collaboration with since last year.

Just a bit about them, The team at Headlines Hairdressing are professionals in their own right. The team does their work not just with pride but with heart, in every cut, treatment and style. Headlines Hairdressing’s impeccable service is performed out of the gratitude that they have in return for their clients’ trust - the one principal that will always guide the work ethos of Headlines Hairdressing.

Currently, Headlines Hairdressing carries The Mucota Dyna line of products as well as the Matrix brand of products by L’Oreal. This time around, I became curious and tried the Mucota Scena hair treatment that's very recommended and popular. Keep scrolling down for more details!

It's really important that we do a hair treatment after a hair colouring, not just to keep our hair soft and shiny, but also because the effects of the hair treatment done right after hair colouring is the greatest (apparently, the hair absorbs the nutrients better and more easily as our hair cuticles are all 'opened' from the chemical procedure).

Finally a picture with Nic Ling, senior stylist from Headlines Hair Dressing. My friend at my right side is using my discount code for her Mucota Scena hair treatment too! Thank you so much for the service, we had an enjoyable time there.

So, what are you waiting for? Don't forget to quote my name, "Cindy Claribel Kalim" for a 15% discount off! Call now to make a reservation or simply check out their website for furthermore details
